THE large twin-motor Friedrichshafens were sucessfully deployed in WWI for medium range bombing operations and were to be built in substantial numbers. The G.III boasted stable flying qualities which endeared it to its hard-working crews, while the sturdy undercarriage prevented many a landing mishap. The highest percentage of German bomber losses were as a result of landing accidents; a sober statistic.
This new DATAFILE contains many rare archive photos along with fully revised 1:48 and 1:72 scale plans by Ian Stair which combined with detailed colour notes and technical data provide the scale modeller with a unique reference package. With DATAFILE No.65, Peter Grosz completes our coverage of the German WWI bomber triad. The Gothas and the AEG G.IV having already been generously covered by our popular Gotha! Special and DATAFILE No.53 both still available from the editorial address.
